Just exactly what is a network you may be asking yourself, well a network is a group of people each running compatible software who have connected thier computers together to exchange netmail and echomail and exchange files, for example InterBBS game packets.
Netmail is basically the same as your standard internet e-mail, except it's only exchanged with people in that particular network. Echomail is very similar to the newsgroups found on the internet, echomail is not private however, anyone reading that particular echo will be able to see what has been posted for as far back as the sysop of that particular BBS allows.

Some games played on the BBSes have a feature known as InterBBS play, where the BBSes on a particular network link thier games together allowing for competition between people and or BBSes far away from each other. Examples of the InterBBS games this league offers is Interlord, BRE, FE, TAL and many more. Log on to a InterGaming net 391 BBS to see what other games there are offered. However not all InterGaming net 391 BBSes carry the games or not all carry all the games.
